The word Fringe reminds us of the sci-fi drama TV series. The series was full of uncertainties and it drew viewers to look for more and more.
If you have watched enough movies and TV series you will find one of the statements very commonly used as a guide for decision making - FOLLOW YOUR HEART.
If you are using that as your guide and advice to others, you may want to re-examine it.
Numbers 15:38
Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:
And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:
Numbers 15:38-40 (in Context)
The heart is never a decision-making device. We are supposed to keep/incline it towards God. (Joshua 24:23)
If you are not convinced, in 2 Samuel 7 Nathan the prophet advised King David to follow his heart to build God a temple and later was corrected by God in his dream.
So NEVER JUST FOLLOW YOUR HEART. Follow instead the instructions of the Lord your God.
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. (Proverbs 28:26 KJV)
