Years ago there was a commercial by Ribena featuring two cute children. The little girl asked the little boy what he was drinking and he replied, "Ribena". The little girl then asked if she could have some and the little boy shared a small portion of his Ribena with her and they both laughed after she displayed a satisfied expression consuming the Ribena.
Today when I think about the cup and the Ribena, Jesus came to my mind. Our church uses Ribena and bread for Holy Communion. I remembered Jesus was in agony when he mentioned a cup that he had to bear for the sin of the world. I remembered when his sweat was like to that of blood. A phenomenal called "hematohidrosis". Jesus gave it all for the sin of the whole world.
Ribena reminds me that Jesus gave everything for us to redeem, purchase, deliver, cleanse, wash, or ransom us. He did not share
His little with us but
His all. As we journey into remembering the final last days of Jesus's life on earth towards Good Friday and Easter, may we always believe, always love, always trust, always praise, always give thanks and always hope even when the days are evil.
In return, may we learn to give more, love more, do more, and sing more because giving little is just not how Jesus gave it.
For those who are forgiven little, show little love, and those who are forgiven much, love much.
