We are affected every day by what we see and hear. When the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was announced, millions were anticipating it. The newer design,
bigger screen, faster processor and the S-pen were selling points of this new gadget promising an experience better than its competitors. The 4 pages news spread brought the launch to a new climate. The long queue made news during the launch of this smartphone on 19/10/12.
More than 2000 years ago a Jewish rabbi drew a large crowd among the poor and despised group of followers everywhere he went. He announced that the kingdom of God had come. He was rejected by his closest neighbors and the religious leaders of his time. He challenged the existing practices, proclaimed a better way, and urged people to follow him. He did not have a marketing team in place. No mass media coverage or 4 pages of news spread. Yet his death on the cross continues to draw believers from all over the world today. His name is JESUS and his fame will continue into eternity.
In our quest for new experiences may we remember that only Jesus lasts forever and walking with Him can give us experiences with God and others that no gadgets can.
