Eyepatch

If you followed Jack Sparrow series long enough, but you may start to ask the reason why pirates are often pictured as one with an eyepatch. As a child, I would think that they fight more battles hence the injuries were something that displays their experience. Legend, however, explained that sailors used eyepatch to keep one eye adjusted to the darkness when they go under the deck of the ship where there was no light source. This adjustment helped them save time going in between decks. It was even tested.- source en. Wikipedia.org/wiki/Eyepatch Our spiritual walk can be very similar. The disciplines we have meditating on the scripture and connecting with God in prayers help us adjust faster when we experience darkness. They act like the eyepatch which is seemingly small yet possesses great impact when we face challenges. May we continue in small spiritual disciplines and let it work in us in times of need. Nahum 1:7 KJV The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. 20130317-105104.jpg
