Some Christian phases sound good but may not be biblical. Servant of God often professes that they do not want to steal God's glory when asked to share their testimony or about the good work they have done.
First and foremost, in God, is full of glory (Isaiah 15:11). This glory cannot be reduced by you or me. The easier way to understand this glory is by using light.
In the beginning, God created light. Notice that sun, moon, and stars came much later in the 4th day so this light on the first day is not the sun's ray that brightens the day. The light on the first day pierced the darkness. The light on the first day is God's glory.
Later in the gospel of John, this light dwelled among us as Jesus. To see Jesus is to see the glory of God. Rather than stealing God's glory, Jesus reflected the glory of God. Isaiah 60:1.
Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 3 compared the temporal glory shining through Moses and to believers now where the Holy Spirit dwells and insisted that we should shine more and reflect God's glory more.
Hence we learn that we should shine in our attitude, deeds, and speech. When others see God's glory in us, we have just reflected God's glory and not stealing it (Matthew 5:16). Do not be fearful then to speak about how God has influenced you to do great things for Him. Never be fearful that in some way you will steal God's glory. Psalm 84:11. The scripture is more concerned about people's glory in things other than God Himself (Philippians 3:19). Hence remember anything that brings glory to God, that do in confidence.
Shine for Him.
