This is one commandment most of us do not commit - Thou shall not kill.
Among the other 9 commands in which one may be caught breaking, killing someone is surely something most people wouldn't do. This was what we thought until we met Jesus. He raised the bar and proclaimed the same judgment both on murderers and one who harbors anger towards his/her brethren. Which then makes us question if we have committed wrongs as serious as murder more often then we thought. Remember someone cut into your lane and suddenly the driver's IQ was called into question and you hope the vehicle gets into an accident?
Matthew 5:21-22 KJV
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hellfire.
Mark 7:21 KJV
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
All of a sudden, we are all murderers in many ways. Jesus showed us the magnitude of sin which we often cast aside. He did this to bring us into a guilt trip and then showed us that our sins and shame are settled at the cross. We can now follow Him and His ways. Now if we are murderers saved by grace. Doesn't that blow our minds?
