Pain or pleasure?

Humans by default move away from pain and are drawn to pleasure. Given a choice, we make decisions base on comfort, convenience, and safety. However, walking with God requires a certain quality - faith. People walking in faith walk contrary neither to pleasure or logic. Abraham had to unplug his family, Noah to build an ark, Joseph to be sold to Egypt, Esther to face the ruler and David to face the giant. Though many of them experienced victory in the earthly terms, many disciples in the new testament did not. Jesus had to go to the cross and most of the Apostles died a martyr's death. Perhaps many had realized these written words: 1 Peter 4:1-2 KJV Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
May we learn the mind of Christ and not the lust of men. When something is lost something else is always gained. Those things might be unseen but certainly, they are precious.
