Our story must not revolve around a single victorious moment. The story of David and Goliath left a great impact to every new believer. However, there was more than one giant!
In 1 Chronicle 20, we read that Goliath has a brother who was killed by Elhanan. Many versions of the Bible have not correctly recorded the same account written in 2 Samuel 21:19.
There was yet another giant with 12 fingers and toes. He was slain by David's nephew. They were all giant slayers.
Today I do not think our culture calls for killings of physical giants. If not adulterers should watch out for stones.
Rather, we must continue to overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21.
May we continue to face our giants and subdue it with the strength of God - goodness, love, truth, grace, faith, obedience, and many more. It takes courage and is never easy, but we can be giant slayers when God is with us.
