Do you consider yourself a mature Christian? Are you eloquent and know the scripture fairly well? Perhaps you consider yourself instructed in the ways of God and fervent in the spirit. You may be another Apollos.
The writer of the book of Acts was careful to describe Apollos. He was everything a mature believer suppose to be. Trained in scripture, instructed in the ways of God and fervent in spirit, what more would we ask for? Yet, the record showed us that Aquila and Priscilla took him and expounded the way of God more perfectly to Apollos.
Apollos would only benefit if he was open to Aquila and Priscilla. In many ways, Apollos qualified to be a leader. At any point in time, if he had harbored pride, his story might have ended differently. In this case, his humility allowed him to understand the ways of God more perfectly.
May we learn to be open to be taught, to be instructed and to be guided in God's way. God wants to teach us better ways than we knew..
