Hannah was crying her heart out at the temple of the Lord. Nothing could satisfy her longing for a son. In those days, childbearing was a sign of honor and blessing to a wife which I believe still stands today. Her groaning and prayers were misunderstood by Eli the priest who served at the temple. He thought she was drunk. The man of God can sometimes misunderstand people. As much as the people of God standing up for truth can sometimes misunderstand the other. We read prayers as drunkard words.
When we relate to people, we must learn this simple truth, and may this truth help each other to be willing to say, "Sorry, I misunderstood you".
We learn that later that Hannah begot Samuel who became a great instrument for God because Hannah honored her promise. 1 Samuel 1.
