Make Room for God

Antioch New Place Humans are comfort zone dwellers. We love a certain kind of routines in our lives. Our breakfast routines, our travel routines, our work routines, and even our church routines. Somehow, remaining in such routines gives off a sense of security, control, and make us feel normal. Much of the time these routines are good. Many of us ask God for better things, not many of us make room for it. Something just struck me recently when we decided to lease a place for Antioch Chapel monthly. Antioch Chapel has always been using a sub-leased place weekly. Although it was not something we planned for, we seized the opportunity when the option came. Little did we thought that it would be used as the Prison Fellowship drop-in centre during the weekdays. Come to think of it, many of us did ask God to use us in the prison ministry in greater measures. God has made room for it. This move has thought me some precious lessons. Firstly, to make room for God. When we invite guests to our home did not we add chairs and tables to ensure everyone has a seat? When we purchase a nice piece of furniture did not shift some other furniture to make sure the new one has its place? What about when we invite God to work in our lives? Should not we begin to make room for His work to be done? May we learn the importance of making room for God in our lives. Nehemiah 4:10 KJV And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall.
