Matthew 8 recorded us an amazing story. A history that Jesus was marveled.
A centurion's servant was struck with palsy (paralyzed). The servant was tormented. This centurion then came to Jesus and asked for healing for his servant. It can be seen that the centurion was a kind master.
Jesus agreed to go to the centurion's place to heal his servant but he received a surprising reply. Don't come, just speak the word and my servant will be healed." He emphasized he understood how authority worked. Jesus was marveled by the faith of the centurion.
Today, many of us invite God to be in our meetings, our gatherings, our homes, our church, and even our lives. We are all ready for you God. The centurion understood a great and simple truth. He was not worthy of Jesus' presence in his place. Don't come, I am not worthy. Peter said, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man."
Perhaps we should change the way we ask. Don't come, for we are not worthy, just speak the word. That kind of asking might marvel Jesus our Lord.
Acknowledging and coming before the presence of God then is a call for a careful examination of our hearts. Recognizing one's sinful condition, yes your whole being, remembering Jesus finished work on the cross is the only appropriate way to
come before His presence.
