We like to think of ourselves as being unique. Yes we have different blueprints when we were made. We have different finger prints, we have different personalities, we like different things, we love different music and much more. However, when we fall into temptation and commit wrong, we like to think that the temptation we faced was unique to us. Others will not understand the wars in our mind and the struggles we have in our decision making. The Bible has something to say about that in 1 Corinthians 10:13. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. It is a comfort to know that everyone in the whole wide world undergoes the same kind of temptation we are facing each day. We love to fill our desires, we want more, we envy, we lust, we seek recognition, we love stuff.... yes we are very much of the same made-up under the skin. When we are tempted to remember it is not God who tempts us. (Book of James). It is our own desire. Common to all men. People of God we can then feel along with, have compassion for, and stand by people who are struggling with certain habits. Yes, there is a way out. Let us stand with each other in prayer, encouragement, and learn the truth of God's word.
