The term "bearing fruit" is mentioned in many passages in the Bible. In the book of Genesis, humans were told to be fruitful and multiply. Interesting to note the command is not pertaining to multiplication alone but to be fruitful AND multiply. Today, many associates the term bearing fruit as to multiplication. Matthew 7:17-19 stated clearly that everyone bears a certain kind of fruit. Some good, some evil. Fruit of the spirit is defined for us Galatians 5 and Ephesians 5. They were both in the context of cultivating the godly character. To become more like Christ.
