Lights! Sin! Action!

In our days, we are seldom taught the law of God as in the Bible. It is perceived as old fashioned, inapplicable, and not possible for present-day living. Sin today is more known as "fun" rather than a set of do and don'ts to keep. This is far from the truth. Understanding the moral requirements allows us to live in harmony with our God, even as a Christian. The key to keeping the law, however, is not rooted in how disciplined we can be but how much we love God. Because you will do nothing to displease someone you love. You want to please rather than to hurt. Hence keeping the law reflects our heart condition. Yes, it could go the other way as to obey the law to keep God on our side. That would be dangerous as we cannot earn the favor of God with our deeds. It was the work of Jesus on the cross where His blood was shed that we can be on God's side. Isaiah 24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Isaiah 24:4-6 Jeremiah 2:8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. Jeremiah 2:7-9 Daniel 9:11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him. Daniel 9:10-12 Hosea 8:1 Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law. Hosea 8:1-3 Amos 2:4 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked: Amos 2:3-5 James 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. James 2:10-12 1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 1 John 3:3-5 .
