Fire in Heaven. Sounds a bit scary doesn't it? Yes. In the letter to Corinthians (1 Corinthians 3:15) Paul spoke of believers who will suffer great loss because their work did not pass the quality test - and they will be as one saved but as passing through FIRE.
There was a passage in Acts literally gave us a glimpse of that situation. Not by fire though but by a strong wind Euroclydon.
Acts 27 recorded for us a tough sailing journey the centurions, captains, and Paul had when Paul was to be transported.
Paul issued warnings that they would not survive the trip but they instead went for professional advice.
Later when all of them were on the verge of giving up living, Paul received good news from God that he will save everyone onboard the vessel. The important thing is that they have to remain on the ship.
Remain on the ship. A metaphor of remaining in Jesus. It is so important not only to abide in Jesus but also to carry out His instructions. If the centurions had taken advice from Paul knowing he is a man of God, they would not have suffered such losses. Such loss does not refer to products or materials but rather things which last like love, peace, and joy.
Let us be mindful to spend as much time getting instructions from God as much as we do His work.
It doesn't sound compelling at all to be saved just as one escape from the fire.
