I could see children grinning as they bounced up and down the air-inflated playground. This playground was so huge and there was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy. There were slides, inclines for climbing, tunnels, and nets. Each occupied with children and adults who seemingly enjoying themselves while carrying out the activities. There were people who seemed to focus on climbing to the top, yet others enjoy the slides that brought them back down. There were some who tried to hang on the nets while others having a hard time reaching it without the help of others.
I look around and there were some leaving the playground either exhausted or they have no time to continue to play. There was even some left crying because they were injured. I identified some friends outside the playground and waved to them in excitement, encouraging them to come in and join the fun. A couple of them prepared themselves and hopped in and a moment later was enjoying themselves. There were some, however, preferred to watch the children play from outside. To them, watching gave them the same enjoyment as playing.
There were people carrying out the task to ensure that there was enough air supplied into the playground to keep it inflated. These were technicians and they do not seem to be bothered by the people inside playing or outside watching. They were satisfied as long as the playground remains inflated.
I also heard people whisper that they experienced a particular bigger and better playground. Opinions seemed to differ one to another. To some, the other playground was indeed much better but to another, it was too big for comfort, and facilities were not the same as this one. They believe that the other playground is more suitable for a certain group of a certain age.
There was yet another group of people who seemed to enjoy themselves at the perimeters in small groups. They seemed to be having conversations forever. They do peep inside whenever there was some noise made by excited players but this excitement was not enough to bring them in.
At that time I had some friends came near and jumped alongside me. We discovered a momentum that throws us higher when we kept a certain timing. We had so much fun. Each time we took a break to catch some breath, our hearts beat fast and we just take momentary breaks in between.
As I sit there, still taking a deep slow breath, I begin to be filled with the wonders of the playground. I thank God to allow everyone here to be part of this. This great wonders will keep me coming back for more. I may try climbing or tunneling the next time, maybe just stand around friends in conversation, maybe help the children to reach the nets or maybe help the injured get to the place of help. I really don't know what I'll do next, but I will want to come back to this
playground.
There were times I felt like using a battleground as the metaphor but in this case, a playground seems to fit better.
Romans 11:33-36
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
