What sets David apart from the rest? I believe it is his life of consecration. Living a consecrated life is does not mean a faultless life. David sinned against God for more than one occasion. His focus was always on the work of the Lord, namely, building the temple. We learned that God specifically instructed him not to build the temple. It will be a task for his son Solomon. Yet David's heart was set to be part of the project. He set aside costly materials solely for that. 1 Chronicles 29. Setting aside anything for the Lord is an act of consecration. It can in the form of materials, money, specific time, specific actions, usage of words, and even act of service. The list is endless. What matters most is the consecrated offering to the Lord.
