Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus. In Luke 2 the angels proclaimed to the Shepherds that a Saviour was born. Born a Saviour? That was very unusual because someone could only be called a saviour of another after he rescued someone. However, Jesus was called the Saviour of the world at birth! That was why the birth of Christ calls for celebration. His birth, His life, His death and His resurrection was all for the sake of a global saving mission. Today when we remember Christmas we remember God the Father who gave His best for us. The sinfulness of sin was dealt with so that we can have hope when we meet God again.
