The event of Pentecost was preached countless times to demonstrate the power of the arrival of the Holy Spirit. About 3000 were saved when the Holy Spirit was poured out into believers (Acts 2). The same number died when the Israelites worshipped the golden calf. Peter and John in the later part of the account did greater things. Their boldness in preaching saved 5000! Acts 4:4 KJV Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand. Don't get me wrong. We are not comparing numbers here. What we want to emphasize is that there are unlimited possibilities and power when we operate under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Peter and John healed a man lame from birth. The undeniable miracle silenced the Sadducees and brought more believers than the event of Pentecost itself. Beautiful things were done at a gate named Beautiful. We are reminded that there is beauty in those who are bold in bringing good news. It is more than Pentecost. Romans 10:15 KJV And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
