This sin grows from within. This sin is subtle. This sin got the archangel and turn him into Satan. This sin is pride. The sin of pride occurs everywhere throughout the scriptures. It is deadly and it refuses to admit helplessness and rejects the need for God for living. It was pride that Nabal despised David, it was pride Rehoboam rejected good counsel and it was the pride the scribes, pharisee, and even the high priest rejected our Lord Jesus Christ. Isaiah 14:12-15 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.  Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. When the sin of pride comes it blinds us. It makes us feel like someone we are not. It makes us feel like taking instructions from no one else but ourselves. Pride will not allow us to see our mistakes and our need for forgiveness or help. Pride keeps God out of our life. The only way to get rid of pride is to be humble. Remember even our breath comes from God. Our ability comes from God. What is there to boast? May we learn to be humble and give God all glory and praise for making us who we are.
