Shalom

Shalom is a greeting used by the Jew. This word is used throughout scriptures. It is translated as Peace. Peace is commonly understood as the absence of war or conflict. Shalom is more than that. One aspect speaks forth completeness and wholeness as a being in the Creator God and others. Another aspect of Shalom peace is Reconciliation. Peace is not standing your ground without fighting. Peace is reconciliation. It takes a relationship to another level. That is why God sent His son Jesus to be the atonement for our sins so that we can be reconciled back to Him. God is not satisfied with withholding judgment for our sins,  He brought reconciliation. Today, many people stayed at the level of holding to their position without fighting, thinking that that means being at peace. We get good but missed the best. God wants to give us the best.
May we go beyond holding our position. May we learn to reconcile.
Ephesians 2:14-17 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;  Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;  And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:  And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
