We see sparrows everywhere. None of us ever paid any attention to them usually. They are common, not particularly attractive, and often ignored. Sparrows, strange as it seemed, were mentioned by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.
Luke 12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.
Noticed the math in Matthew 10:29 and Luke 12:7. There was a free sparrow, worth not even half a penny. Yet, God, the Father cares even when it falls and dies. Bible teacher Derek Prince uses the term, "God attended
the sparrow's funeral". Isn't that touching?
Our Lord Jesus further encouraged us that we are worth much more than the sparrow and we meant a lot to God. This is the most beautiful illustration for any of us who feel worthless at times. You are worth more than you think! Look up and give thanks to a God who cares more than you imagined. The Heavenly Father who attend
the sparrow's funeral, loves you.
Matthew 10:31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Luke 12:7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
May we understand that God's love is sealed on the cross of where Jesus died out of love for you and me. Love Him back children of God. Love Him.
