Have you ever felt like everything you are doing now is meaningless? This feeling is not restricted to your job or studies. It also happens in Christian ministry. If this is happening to you, read on.
The Movie Jurassic World pointed out an interesting point. People are sick and tired of watching dinosaurs. They must raise the bar of entertainment and create more ferocious dinosaurs to attract the crowd. Humans are constantly seeking new excitement to feed this emotional crave. Christians happen to be humans and we are not spared from washed-out excitement which once captivated us.
Here are 2 suggestions to be refreshed.
1) Go back to your starting point. In Revelations 2 the church of Ephesus was rebuked for losing their first love. We must constantly remember that God loves us and we are serving God because of our love for Him. We serve out of love.
2) We must remember to give our ordinary something. Moses served 40 years a shepherd before he encounters God as a form of the burning bush. He was tasked to go and lead the Israelites (who were then slaves in Egypt). Moses did not think that their people will believe him. God, however, asked Moses to throw his staff on the ground. The staff is an ordinary tool used by every shepherd. Moses never once thought that the staff could later be a tool he uses to perform miracles. God did. Moses held on to the staff ever since. Remember to give your ordinary to God.
May we remember to go back to our starting point. May we give our ordinary something to God. May we be Refreshed.
