2016 will be over in hours and we will enter into 2017. As believers and disciples of our Lord Jesus, it is important to allow the Lord to do this 3 things in our lives. Since many of us will be preparing for the new year, I thought this would be helpful to you in your preparation. Comfort - when our Lord Jesus ascended He did not abandon His people. He sent the Holy Spirit, also known as the Comforter to be with his people. John 14:16. If there be anything in 2016 that causes hurt and bitterness, may the Comforter be there to comfort and to lead you towards peace and forgiveness which leads to freedom. Confront - Apostle Paul urged us to confront wrong with truth and love. Titus 2:15. It requires courage and strength to do this. It brings sorrows and pain but such is needful for healing like a surgical procedure. 2 Corinthians 7. We must also confront our own wrongs and measure ourself not with others but with the word of God. Ultimately, it is our walk with God that matters most in the eyes of our Lord. Challenge - The Lord did not only restored His relationship with Apostle Peter, He gave Peter the task of spreading the Gospel. That changed Peter's life. The Lord did not merely reconciled us to Him but gave us the great commission. This is a challenging task and it should be our top priority in the new year. May those who need find confort in the Holy Spirit and His presence. May we have courage to walk this redemptive journey with great boldness in the Lord. May the passive be challenged to love and serve our Lord till He comes again. Godspeed 2017.
