Apostle Paul made an astounding statement that the ministry to the Church of Corinthians was not of ink but living testimonies of the Holy Spirit.
Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. But if the ministration of death, written and engraved in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. (2 Corinthians 3:2-9 KJV)
Paul understood that the era of the Holy Spirit had begun and the ministry did shine forth with greater Glory because God Himself is working through the function of the Holy Spirit. Anything God-given brings forth glory. Moses's face shone but it faded. People had a hard time gazing at him. How much more glory will the Holy Spirit brings forth as this glory fades not?
Today, the intellectual importance we placed supersedes the working of the Holy Spirit. We expect God to work within our knowledge and anything outside of it we are fearful to comply. A man of faith must be willing to obey God believing that God is good and loving and will not expose His people in obedience to grave errors and sin. Didn't we read that God works for the good of those who love Him? Hence sincere obedience to God in love cannot expose one to destruction but rather even if the situation does not look good God will turn it around. We are not advocating blind obedience or despise knowledge but rather God should supersede all of that. It means more loss to miss out moments that God would use through you if one chooses to play safe instead of obedience through faith.
May we all become epistle without ink. Touching lives and ministering grace everywhere we go.
