Everyone experience a time when God seemed to be far away. We felt abandon and left alone. People who walked with God sometimes experience that. Some call the experience the dark soul of the night as in a famous Spanish poem.
King Hezekiah was recorded as a good King of Israel. He was commended as one who walked like David. However, there was an instant recorded that the Lord left him to try his heart. To see what his heart is made of. (2 Chronicles 32:31)
This record is significant because it tells us that the moment we felt God left us alone is the time we show our piety towards God. Those times are often lonely and frustrating, but at the same time, they are opportunities.
Perhaps in those times, we may have a little taste of what Christ Jesus had gone through when God forsook him.
I pray grace and mercy to all who are going through such a journey. May you be steadfast and faithful.
