Storms are mentioned many times in the scripture. Storms are usually associated with troubles, difficulties, trials, and hard times. We use "storms in life" to describe though times in our lives.
Storms that we went through often leave behind yardsticks that we can look back for strength and wisdom. It was never God's intention to remove storms but rather to bring us through them.
God raised a storm when Jonah fled from Him, Jesus brought the disciples into a storm when he crossed to the other side, when Peter walked on water with Jesus a storm arise immediately and when Apostle Paul was in the vessel he encounters storms that wreck ships.
In many cases, the storm was not calmed less by Jesus. However, every time the storm came, God was there!
It is important for believers to remember to look up to God instead of the waves during trouble times. Someone once said, "In darkness look for light and on rainy days look for a rainbow."
May we trust The Lord to walk through the storms of life with us and now let the circumstances overwhelm us.
