God raises people to do His bidding. He gave specific measurements to build the tabernacle and He raised the craftsman to do the job. He gave the book of Leviticus and raised a tribe Levi to perform the priestly task. He called the Israelites to the promised land and raised an army from slaves to drive out the enemies. The people of God were clear about their roles. Kings were supposed to lead and rule the people. The priest was supposed to make atonements and perform religious rites. Judges were supposed to deliver their people from oppression. Few were called to do multiple roles at any one time. David was a shepherd, then an officer, and later a king. Moses was a prince and then a shepherd and later a deliverer. Knowing your role is essential as part of your journey with God. King Saul decided to offer a sacrifice that angered God. Then Peter decided to go back to fishing instead of being a shepherd of God's people. Jonah decided to sail instead of preach. Today, many people are restless and lost because they either do not know their role or refuse to perform their roles. Promises to God are broken easily with disappointment, discouragement, or sometimes despair. The journey with God requires us to know our role and to perform whatever the route seems to be. This is the call to faithfulness.

May we be sure of the role our God calls us and may we never waiver in performing it. Antioch Chapel is called to be the life boat for the lost. Life boats are to save lives. Life boats response to the call rather than comfort. You cannot sit in a lifeboat expecting to have a comfortable sailing. If you hear the call, come.
