Mary was a blessed woman. Out of all the women in the world she was chosen to bear our Saviour Jesus Christ. Luke 1:46-48. In a later time when Jesus was doing His ministry, he came across a woman who recognized Him as the Messiah. The woman then proclaimed that the womb which carried the Messiah was the most blessed one. Jesus gave a surprising reply. Luke 11:27-28 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. No doubt Mary was a blessed woman. However, her mission was the means to an end. That end was people to know the Messiah Jesus and to walk in His ways in obedience to His words. Jesus was more concerned with that than the womb from where He came. May we heed the words of Jesus and walk in them. His ways are powerful to impact lives. We have now the word of God available to us and let's hear and keep it.
