Your Most Powerful Words

There are many articles about how words can make or destroy people. How words can be used as a weapon or medicine. How words can kill or can heal. Some powerful words in your life include, "I am sorry.", "You are better than that.","I am with you.","You are not alone","I am proud of you."..etc Meaning what you say must accompany the utterance to give the power of the words. Rabbi Joel talks about how the ritual of prayer must be done with intention. Why you pray matters. In the same way, why you say what you say matters. In the scripture, one most powerful sentence used by men of God was, "Here am I". Ready presence in the presence of God. That was the relational evidence of a person who walks with God. Readiness to be instructed. Ready to be commissioned. It was life-changing. Men of God includes the Prophet Isaiah and Prophet Samuel.
May we be ready to be commisioned, may we be ready to be instructed and used by the Lord. May we respond to the Almighty with,"Here I am."
This article was inspired after learning from Rabbi Joel in his talk about Hineni. (Hebrew: Here am I).
