Response to Grace

The commandments were given to the Israelites after they were set free from the hands of the Egyptians. Reminders were given them prior to the commandments, "I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage." God reminded the Israelite that they were slaves in bondage and were delivered by the Grace of God. We believer of Jesus was in bondage to sin and the blood of Jesus delivered us. The commandments were then issued to the Israelite. People who experienced grace must be instructed to live in the way of grace. In the case of the Israelite the Mosaic commandments and in the case of us the commandments of Jesus. Response to grace is nothing more than living out the Lordship of Christ. Jesus is fit to be not only our Saviour but also our Lord. Trust and Obey was an old hymn by one who understood the gospel. Trust cannot be without obedience and obedience cannot be without trust. To be happy in Jesus, trust, and obey Him.
May we experience the grace of God and in turn obey what He commands us to do.
